FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Daedus free?

Yes. Basic is free forever and works without an API key. Premium is an optional one-time purchase, with no subscription.

Why do I need my own API key?

Daedus connects straight to Claude using your own key, so you pay Anthropic only for what you use instead of a monthly subscription. Your requests go from your phone to Anthropic, not through a Daedus server.

Does my Claude Pro or Max subscription work?

No. Claude.ai subscriptions and the API are billed separately. You need an API key from the Anthropic Console, which is pay-as-you-go.

How much does the API cost?

It depends on how much you use it. Daedus uses Anthropic's fastest, cheapest model for everyday tasks by default, so light daily use usually costs very little. You can set a spending limit in Daedus and in the Anthropic Console.

Is Daedus made by Anthropic?

No. Daedus is built by an independent developer and runs on Claude through Anthropic's API.

What happens after the Premium trial?

Daedus goes back to Basic, which keeps working. Nothing is deleted. Buy Premium any time to turn the Premium features back on.

What phones does it work on?

Android phones. Some features depend on your phone and Android version.
